Champion bridge player reaches target (6)
My husband is stuck on this one - he has ?I?N?R.
He thinks the answer is 'winner' but not sure how that fits in with the clue, so an explanation would be most helpful. Thanks, Mu

SORRY!
I did check the site, as I hate it when people ask things that have already been answered! I must have taken so long to type it, then submitted it. I couldn't believe it when I saw someone had posted the same question (with another question) when I went back to the list! Shan't do it again!!!
Muzz, it's easily done, this has also happened to me on occasions. Best wishes ;0)
Muzz my terse message was not intended as any sort of reproof but our fellow ABer Sarumite had given an excellent answer elsewhere to your question and I wondered if he would like to repeat it.
Best wishes

Thank you, Sarumite.
I am still amazed that we were both thinking of the same clue, at the same time! I had checked back to about 1500 yesterday, as that is when I was on the AB (doing the GK crossword), and I knew there hadn't been many questions posted re the Cryptic one. (If there ARE any, I write the answers down, and hubby gets them as a last resort, as he prefers to do it WITHOUT any help!). Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Mu

See - you're all too fast for me!
Kayakamina - see my previous answer!
No offence taken anyway!
As I said, I, too, get annoyed when I see the same question asked several times.
