my bathroom is above the kitchen. Quite frequently when somebody showers the waters leaks through the kitchen ceiling. Planning on having a new bathroom suite fitted later this year (HOPEFULLY A LARGER BATH). But who would we get to check to see if we need new joists, floorboards etc. surely they must be damaged fom 3 years of leaking water. My partner reckons it will be a huge job and very expensive. Is he right???

Hi You wont really know until you remove the old bath then floor boards to inspect the joists you may be surprised at there condition I wouldn't think that you would have allowed so much water to leak through the ceiling to have adverse effect on them ? if you get a decent plumber he may know joiners/ tilers/electricians if needed, not sure on costings bigger bath wall moves?that could be expensive other postings may help hth Tez
If the shower is above the bath, why not take the bath-side off and have a look?
Call a plumber, he will have vast experience of this situation!!
