Repartition a non empty hard drive?

I have a 30GB hard drive and partitioned it with 2gb and 28 gb, i use the 2gb for xp. It's not enough room, and keep running out of room just to operate, even though I use the bigger partition for files and programs. Is it possible to repartition the drive to give me a larger operating space? Or delete windows xp files that i'll never use?

I used something called 'partition magic' which allowed me to partition a non-empty hard drive. I dont think its possible using the standard fdisk application that runs through DOS. Maybe you can download a free trial of it? I'm sure I used a trial version that was on a CD in a PC mag.

2Gb probably isn't enough for XP. you can free up some space by:
- running disk cleanup
- change the temp file location to the second disk
- move the swap file to the second disk
- change the default location for your docs to the second disk.

If you are thinking about repartitioning backup your data first.

Of course, if you've got another disk to copy the data to why not just format and re-allocate the original disk?
