I want to find out more about the subjects of Renoir's "City", "Country" & "Bougival" Dance paintings. Suzanne Valadon is easy but can anyone tell me about Aline Charigot, Paul Lhote & Eugene Pierre Lestringuez - who they were, what they did in life, their relationship with Renoir and each other, years of birth & death etc. Many thanks.

Aline Charigot was Mrs Renoir (eventually). They met in c1890, had their son Pierre in c1895, married in c1890 and had second son Jean in c1895. Sorry, don't have time to look exact dates up, but you should find them in any biography of Renoir. Lhote was another artist, Lestringuez was a businessman/ in government?, not an artist at any rate, but both were good friends of Renoir. They both appear in the painting, "Luncheon at the Boating Party". If you look this painting up on the Phillips Collection website they have descriptions of all the participants. Used to be on my favourites list, but no longer.
