Can't trace a song i'm sure is by The Funkmasters - It';s over, from the 80's. fab song but can't trace it! Am I wrong in title of group?

Nope, you seem to have the right people, except that according to Ye Olde British Hit Singles book the group name was Funk Masters as two words.

 

The song was a number 8 hit in 1983. They were one hit wonders so if you're looking for the song, I think your best bet would be an 80s compilation - no idea which one though, I'm afraid.
