Is it possible to cut Vertical blinds to size?
10 Answers
I'm hoping to buy some ready made vertical blinds to go in the recess of my window. Ready made ones are either too big or too small and I can't afford made to measure ones.
If you can cut to size, how do you do it?
Thanks in advance

I bought mine from ikea. measure the distance between where they will be fitted (be sure to measure at the top and bottom as will probably be different. You take this figure and deduct it from the length of the blind. You half what is left and cut it off each side of the blind. You will need a hacksaw for the metal bit and I used a cirular saw for the wooden slats.

You will need a sewing machine. Remove the chains and the weights from the bottom of each panel, turn up the panel to the required length and, using a long machine stitch, sew a hem deep enough to accomodate the weight. Trim off the excess fabric, place the weight in the new hem, re-attach the chains.
