Late application.

I applied for a new position at work, which involved shifts.

I gave a good interview, but was unsuccesful.

The bloke who got the position told them he couldn't work shifts as his wife works and he applied 2 days after the closing date.

Do you think I have grounds to complain?

is this a private company - if so not much really. I would defo ask for some feedback and then slip in where did the other guy do so much better etc.

Unless, of course, there is an issue of discrimination?  Disability/Race/Sex discrimination for example.
