Benalyn advert

In the Benalyn advert the voiceover says something like Nothing works faster without prescription and everybody gets up and rushes out presumably to buy some Benalyn.  Why do the OAPs get up when they can get a prescription for something that works faster than Benalyn for free ?

Because it's an advert. The message is, anyone, even OAP's who's prescriptions are free would rather buy Benalyn.

I think the idea is that all the people in the waiting room have taken Benalyn but then gone to see the dr, but before they even get past the waiting room, their coughs clear up because it is such good medicine.
