I've just seen this tonight, it seems to be observed from all views. It seems to me that religion has much to answer for.

Yes, but you could also say the same of �nature�, �people�, �empires�, �kings�, �politics�, �history�, �the French� etc etc. All things in the past shape the future and the way we are today, that�s just how it is.
