For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I think that PS is recognised as an accurate method of recording the power output of an engine in Germany. BHP isn't, so most car manufacturers use the authorised method (this may include other countries too, not sure).
KW is another recognised method but most people are unfamiliar with this format. PS and BHP are nearly the same reading.
PSI is ponds per square inch - a measure of pressure.
PS stands for PferdeStarke and is almost the same as BHP (Brake Horse Power). To convert to PS from BHP then multiply by 1.01387.
KW - is kilowatt another measurement of power and if multiplied by 1.341 will convert to BHP.
