I've been to Cuba for a hoiliday and the maids and the waiters begged us to sell them our trainers, baseball caps, T shirts with nike logos etc. They were prepared to pay $40 to my daughter for a pair of year old Nike trainers she was wearing just to fly home in.
I was advised by the tour rep to leave any half used toiletries as a tip for the maids in the room, as the toiletries there are just so expensive.
And I tool 2 mobiles, one cos it had all my numbers in and the new one i bought the day before a flew that was tri-band. Anyway, one of the girls working in the gift shop on the site wanyed to buy my phone !!! Apparently mobile phones there are outragiously expensive, so I swapped my phone, a 2 year old motorola for a gorgeous handbag in her shop!!!
The horses they used for the tourists to ride along the beach were in a terribel state too, very boney and covered in sores, i complained about that.
