So lastnight I went to see my mates little girl in a halloween dance show. And at start they did the usual cameras and camcorders are not permitted for legal reasons. But then the dvd of the show is on sale soon. How does that work!!

So you have to buy it instead of filming it for free.

The legal reasons are because of having other peoples children filmed so how come they can do a DVD. What a farce!!

So you don't zoom in and film the little girl's/boy's bits and pieces.
Sad times but they have to cover themselves.

When my daughter started school this time, one of the many many many forms we had to read and fill in was whether we would allow filming of her during concerts etc.Like AV said, at least if its only school filming allowed we can safely assume (I hope?) that any filming of our children will be legitimate ones.

Ask the school, they might be doing it for fund raising, aka the staff xmas p!ss up

very true. Our schools also have to fill a form in if you want class photo in local paper.

The reason schools don`t allow filming or pictures isn`t because they think there`s a paedo in the audience, it`s to do with kids being fostered or in care and incase the pics are published in the local newspaper

well with this filming they are not going to know who buys the dvds or where they will end up. But I can understand the pics in paper a bit more now

Also, videos of kids plays are bloody rubbish, bad sound, bad lighting, bad dubbing, bad bad acting, and to think we make the grandparents sit and watch these vidoes at xmas, no wonder they nod off half way through lol
