Card Readers
Hi
I have a card reader installed on my PC (XP Home) made by Sweex. If we have a power cut, then I lose the ability to use the reader - it doesn't show up under My Computer. However, if I remove the side of the PC and unplug and re-plug the lead from the reader onto the MB, all is OK. Can anyone throw any light on this please ?? Any advice will be gratefully received.

The card reader is an internal one, plugged into the motherboard. Surely, I would have thought that when power is restored after a power cut, if the PC boots up as per normal, then anything plugged into the MB would work as well. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. All the peripherals (printer, Ext HD, Webcam etc) work straight away, I don't have to unplug and then plug them back in again.
