what does blood in the urine indicate? no pain involved!

Be sure it is blood and that you have not been eating beetroot.

Blood in the urine needs investigation by a specialist. Many causes, but the commonest is a papilloma (non cancerous growth) in the bladder.

Do't wait, see you GP now.

hi sqad many thanks for answering today!

my friend has since been told that she has to have a blood test on monday. i thought she would have to have had a camera in the bladder first! Maybe its not so urgent as we thought. thanks sqad x.

I had this problem about six years ago and it was caused be a small bleed because I`m on warfarin.

hi quad --i had similiar bleeding just before passing water, --then tiny clots after passing water, about 6 yrs ago? i rang n.h.s. helpline, and they got me in for camera in bladder the same day. results were --2 tumour in my bladder! thats why my friend freaked out really. I hope your in very good health now, like me. i have since had b.c.g. inmunotherapy treatment every year since. --alls well now hopefully .

i first had these symptoms in 1977 turned out it was cancerous but i have had several treatments the last 2 occasions a chemotherapy into the bladder but was not at all bad good luck and think positive

hi spitza at last i've heard some-one say that they've had chemo into the bladder!

my b.c.g. liquid, highly toxic type of chemo, had to be held in the bladder and I wasnt allowed to pass water for 2 hours! When i did pee --oh --it did sting.
