Just make sure you've removed the lenses not the eyes !

Will do! Am putting it off as when at the opticians it took me ages and made my eyes hurt!
Are they hard or soft lenses? Practice makes perfect, honestly!
Dont leave them on for too long sophie, one of my friends did and when she took them off her eyes looked like this

For two weeks she couldn't go anywhere without cats hissing, people throwing holy water on her and angry mobs with pitchforks and burning sticks following her around!
Good luck sophie

p.s. Bigfoot is back - have you noticed (;-))
That I am ttfn!
You'll get used to it, when I first got mine I used to get so frustrated when I couldnt out them in or get them out. Didnt help that on my first appointment for them they lost part of it round the back of my eye!

Soft ones and have just got them both out woohoo! Right one was easy but left eye is rather sore now, was same at opticians as well! I was a bit worried about them getting lost at the bottom part of my eye 4get!
Can you see us sophie-1003 ? If not put them back in ! :-)

I'm ok, am short sighted so looking at the computer is ok, it's driving when I have problems! Anyway, not putting them back in today, have had enough torture for one day I think!
I used to wear hard ones, but got out of the habit.

The first fitting by the optician was an ordeal, stuck there eyes open while they put their lens covered finger in my eye. But never a problem doing it myself. That said I used to put them in off centre and nudge them across.
Question Author
I had to do mine myself at the optician! She showed me the general idea on her own eye (without lens) and then it was 'Your turn!' Can go back if get really stuck getting them out though which is reassuring!
Hi sophie_1003, I have been wearing soft monthly contact lenses from SS for a few years now. You will soon get used to them, but don't push your finger onto your eye when putting them in or taking them out. Always be very gentle. I leave my lenses in a cleaning solution over night. I put a drop of saline onto each lens just before placing it onto my pupil, which allows the lens to adhere to my pupil more easily, as the saline touches the eye first rather than the lens. This way I don't have any discomfort or soreness. I leave mine in all day. Hope you get used to them soon. Best wishes.

Thankyou! Yes mine are from SS too, they were very thorough with telling me how to and how not to put them in and take them out, it's just so darned fiddly! Will hopefully get used to them soon, am going to put them in tomorrow when I'm finished work so as not to leave it too long and scare myself by thinking about them too much!
Hello again Sophie. When I started using soft contact lenses about 20 years ago, it took me ages to get the hang of it. If you've just had the one 'lesson' then I think you've done amazingly well. My optician gave up several of his lunch breaks to teach me to put them in & take them out.

Even now, I still use a magnifying mirror to put my lenses in. It doubles as a make-up mirror & I do the two jobs at the same time!
Good luck sophie - I could never get on with them tho I tried, but I have worn specs since I was six so felt undressed without them. I hope you get on ok - freedom beckons!

It did feel very strange driving home with no glasses on! But have had enough of them for things like nights out where I put lovely eye make up on then it just gets disguised by my glasses!
The bloke before me had to go back another time DSJ, was earwigging when she was talking to him so felt pretty good that I managed it!
