Bit late to ask now (as my husband has already 'carved' one) - but how long does a carved pumpkin last? (It is currently wrapped in cling flim, with a cup of water inside and is in the garage.) Thanks

Bit early...
I think you'll find it'll sweat when wrapped up - I'd be more inclined to leave it unwrapped in a dry place, but I think you'll be hard pressed to keep it for the next ten days without it going curly on you!

Have to be done for Friday for school (sorry, should have said).
I seem to remember mine going a bit smelly and slimey after a couple of days but maybe OK if kept cool like yours.
(.... and the pumpkin)

You know how a cucumber goes after a couple of days, when its been cut.
It might have been better to do it 3-4 days previous.

Wrap it in brown paper or news paper, it would last longer than wrapped in cling film.
Soak it in a cold water and bleach solution overnight.... then spray it inside and out daily. Water to hydrate and bleach to kill bacteria. Might even last till halloween.
