James Cameron (yes, THAT one) is planning to go down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench ...

(only once visited before ... in 1960, or something like that!)

This is probably the most extreme environment on the planet.

Would you go down, if you had the chance?

If not, what other "extreme" place would you prefer to visit?

If you stood Mount Everest in the Mariana Trench (in the Pacific Ocean, crafty), it would still be more than 2km from the top of the mountain to the surface of the water.

The Mariana Trench is the deepest known bit of the ocean.

It's in the Pacific Ocean, just to the right of Japan, and down a bit.
7 miles deep.

TBH it would be so dark down there you wouldnt be able to see anything.
I'd be too scared JJ and that goes for the Mid Atlantic Ridge too. I don't trust those submercibles.
