What's happened to my knee?
17 Answers
For the last couple of weeks, when I kneel down, I get a sharp stabby pain near the front of my left knee. It feels like I've knelt on a stone, but there is nothing there. Many years ago, I knelt on a hard surface on a particularly knobbly button - it's the same "yaroo! ouch!" pain. I can't see anything from the outside of the knee - what could it be?
(Sensible answers only, please - it hurts...)

I have a CAM hip impingment which (again as I understand it) means that I have some sort of firbrous tissue nodule on my hip joint which is causing friction and pain. I think these nodules that form are actually the bodies way of trying to repair damage but unfortunately, they absolutely don't. I was just wondering if maybe you've hurt yourself previously and perhaps you have some sort of nodule which causes pain when you lean on it.... NAturally \i'm likely be talking out of my proverbial but nodules are getting blamed for quite a lot in my life at the moment!
Well if it's perhaps just an inflamation you could take some 'profens and do the ice thing for a week and see if that helps? If not then I guess you might have to pop down to the quacks... ANd if you're anything like me (NHS employer) then I can guess your feelings on seeing doctors on your day off! Bit of a busmans holiday really isn't it?! :c)
I'm about to change mine. I'd have no problem emailing my other GP but need to find my feet with this new lot first. Mind you, once I'm happy then that's it, I'm terribly hard to get rid of... My GP has been in dulwich for the last 3 years from when I lived there, I live in central LOndon, I'm only changing cause of the damn op!
