Spin Cycle for delicates

I've suddenly got a load of clothes that need to be hand washed. I'll bung them in the machine on the hand wash setting but can I put them on a spin cycle after to get rid of some of the water in them or will it make them shrink?

Spinning doesn't make things shrink. They might come out a bit creased, that's all.

Phew thanks! Why don't those wash cycles spin the clothes at the end then? They come out literally dripping wet.

Probably because of the creasing!

The hand washing cycle on my machine has a gentle spin at the end. The clothes never come out dripping wet.

It's the temperature that would make them shrink not the spinning. A delicates/handwash cycle should still spin. It will be a short and slower spin because it's for things that need care. If you spun handwash items like delicate knits etc. on a fast spin they would come out thoroughly mangled and possibly damaged.
