The markings on the tank look like "BSA" to me. Need to look lower down the picture to see the engine to get a better idea.

Joggerjane. I was a biker when I were a lad. Farrrrrr too many years ago. Gets in your blood though.

Well I've only been a "biker" for about four years, G-W.

I'm not a proper biker, but I did do the DAS, and bought a motorbike.

I keep test riding new ones.

I have a friend whose husband lets me take out his Ducati, which is jolly.

I'd suggest its' a B31 from around 1947-48, 350cc engine rigid rear end, tanks about the right shape as are the frame rails and mudguard rail. The oil tank loos spot on as well.

The B31 had the alloy push rod tube down the right hand side of the barrel. I don't see it in the picture.

I know Graham-W that's whats bugging me. We did have a 31 with no pushrod tube but it had had a triumph engine put in it which makes me wonder whether someone has grafted something different in there. the engine looks out of place!

A7, 1949 but I want to check my catalogues at home, looking at Horshoes original image it might even be a sidecar.

It's not one we've had through that i can remember and we've probably had about 35 or 40 pre 1970 aged BSA's over the years, Dad collects, you've no idea of some of the stuff we've had even for a short time.

I still think it's either a A7 or a very early A10. I thought it was a rigid rear end but it could be a plunger rear and the springs hidden behind the girls leg.

Definately an A7, late 1948 early 1949 manufacture, It's a rigid rear end rear frame rails differ to much for it to be a plunger rear end. Would love to know more about it if Horseshoes has any more picture or information about it, especially something with a registration number.
