Longcase clock
3 Answers
I have a longcase clock with the name of William Winton on the clockface. I assume he must be the clockmaker but can find nothing about him anywhere. Can anyone tell me anything about him please? I think the clock was probably built around the 1920s/1930s.

In each of the four corners there is what looks like a human face encircle by some scrolling. In the centre of the face is something which could be a couple of birds. The case is in farily good condition but it has not worked for years so I'm not sure if it chimes or not. I think the parts are all there and I would like to get it repaired. It has a heavy weight and a pendulum which I think is also brass but could be iron as it is also quite heavy. I seem to think that my father used to talk about his father bringing it back from America (he was a ships steward and made several trips there) but I could be wrong about that.
