who has said it is closing down - production is continuing....

Coryton is profitable and will be easily sold.

There may be a rescue package by the majors (esp BP and Calor) to ensure operations continue.

I dealt with the original(Dutch) owners of Petroplus, they sold the company on and what a shame it must be for them to see it in this state in Switzerland - in short, over-leveraged in the name of acquisitional growth.
It said on the news just now that as long as drivers keep buying fuel as usual, and don't start panic-buying, it'll be fine.
BBC 1 news - in administration, thousand jobs at risk (well poss some as 1000 sounds a lot of folk for that refinery - Stanlow nearly twice the size and with a large chemical plant, 800 employees) Exxon over twice the size and 1300.....

Production continuing/crude not coming yet but there will be 30+ days stock and UK reserves......
