I entered "jet stream" into Google, and I got several sites. Here are one or two that might be useful:

metcheck is still running although a bit erratic
The jet stream is shown on meteorological significant weather charts. These are issued every six hours. I am not aware that they influence our surface weather though. They are of interest in aviation as they can greatly reduce flying time when you have 120 knot wind at 35,000 feet behind you. Google to find sources of the charts. Here is one example

as to this high speed stream of wind travelling some 200 mph 6 miles high it is a fact that surface weather is determined by pressure and fronts etc.
the jet stream determines the general flow of weather patterns.
last winter it was much futher south flowing across iberia and so opened .
the door for an abnormally persistant eastrly pattern from siberia
it is because of this massive affect on us that i am looking for a good site.
I believe that it is the jet stream that generates or triggers the depressions that dominate the weather in the temperate zones
if summer fails to stick around meteorologists usually blame it on the jet stream, saying it's too far south of Britain to make for settled weather.
Isn't our weather affected by the Jet stream and the Gulf stream ?
Try this one. Covers Nova Scotia to the Caspian and includes a forecast animation...
