Possibly a slight tangent to the main question but I saw some of the Army lads in my local pub a day or so ago , they were on their way to London and absolutely delighted to be sent to the Olympics . I think all the rest feel the same, they look on it almost as a holiday after Afghanistan. Once the other customers realised what they were there for every one was offering to buy them drinks.

Whereas here it has been known for some landlords to refuse admission into their establishments for anyone in uniform.
