If you find a hurt animal on the roadside and transport it to the vet are you or who is expected to pick up the tab

Usually you. Your best bet is to ring RSPCA who will look after it.
My vet never charges for seeing a wild animal but don't know about a domesticated one.
If I took an injured animal to the vet I would expect to pick up the bill.
I think it depends on the vet.

Try the SSPCA or RSPCA instead.
Our vet did not charge.
I also think it would depend on the vet. I also think the RSPCA would tell you to take a running jump.

Just that a lady today came across a hurt kitten but by the time she got things sorted out with kids going into school .when she returned the kitten was away wheather some one else had taken it or maybe another animal She said she was going to take it to the vet .which made me think what would have happened at the vets if she had arrived with kitten
