i was at a dog show yesterday and there was a couple of bric a brac stalls,i bought 4 sets of cutlery ,two had lettle spoons and tongs,other was all knives,and various other things,i got them all for £10.i would like to get them valued looking to auction,they are 100 years old and still in original boxes,they're lovely,what should my first steps be ????
It would be worth having a look at the hallmarks to see who they are made by. Some makers are more collectible than others. For a good maker, the weight of the silver doesn't matter so much if it is a good maker and the hallmark is nice and clear.
