I hope it was done for the right reasons rather than preempting what is now likely to happen, ie the British establishment having to some sort of deal to save this awful woman. She gave up her associates and did a deal, it seems the judge had other ideas! I hope for once we do nothing at all rather than having the PM bleating on the news like Major did for Patricia Cahill back in the 90's.

TWR, rather well thought out response. What was she doing in Thailand to start with, does it say in any of these reports.
I've only seen it on the 6 O Clock news EM, how many young lives could this woman & her drugs cost. as said, when in rome, she took the chance.
there seems as much misinformation as straightforward reporting, if she went from Thailand to Bali, was she on holiday, and indeed where were her children, back in the UK??
Was in Singapore a few years back Em, the signs are there for all to see.

" Drugs Means Death" To the Illegal drug carriers.

They take the chance, they pay the price, family or no family.
How very simplistic.
I have to hope the children of some posters are never threatened with anything worse than a parking fine, so their resolution will never be tested.
jno, so it's a definite that her children were under threat, where are they?
Although ours have flown the nest JNO, I would have contacted the police, this person knew what she was doing, if she had any thoughts about her children, she would not have carried CONCEALED Drugs in her suitcase. what was stopping her telling the Customs as soon as she arrived in Bali?
