I had thought that people couldn't give them away and here's somebody e-mailing me out of the blue offering to buy.
It's a pity I don't have one I could let them have.

I've a feeling if I contacted them about this it would end up costing me money, real money.
Do you think many folk fall for this type of thing?
Tell them you will take the time to share with them if they pay you money first.

Some might. People who have contracts and must pay annual fees but never use their timeshare for some reason would be prime targets for these chancers.
How do these conmen sleep at night?

It takes years of practice!
It's my guess that the supposed purchaser in this case would want your bank details to transfer payment to you. That could then mean your bank balance going down to zero.

Would they really go to all that trouble for the fifty bob or so thats in it?
They would get 50p plus an amount of overdraft which you would be left to pay off.
