Everyone has a right to be ' offended ' about anything - however isn't the reaction of those ' offended ' going too far ?

I have to wonder why they chose that route, since you would have to go quite out of your way to walk down Stratford Rd, Sparkhill to get from Solihull to BCC.
why shouldn't they walk where they want to? muslim community or not, this is a free country (sort of - the last time i looked).
lcg - in the spirit of the age-old tradition - "Freedom of speech does not entitle you tou shout 'Fire!' in a crowded theatre ..."

it is perhaps considerate of fellow citizens's cultural differences at a particular time in their religious calender to be aware that actions like this can cause offence.

For that matter, plenty of non-Muslim residents may have been less than impressed to find two men so dressed strolling down their street in broad daylight.

It was a well-meaning stunt that was perhaps ill-judged, but as i have confirmed, that does not for one moment permit the dreadful reaction these men received.
Oh I agree lcg, but two white men, one skinhead, both covered in tatoos, half naked, walking a staffy and an alsatian walking through a predominantly muslim area in the process of prepping itself for an EDL rally.....

Not sying they deserved it, just questioning their logic. Sparkhill is a dodgey place at any time of day or night, I'm sure they'd have known that.

...with MY reputation..?
Oh well ....
Was this walk more about coat trailing and offending local sensibilities than it was about collecting for charity?
Admittedly, they don't seem to have had actual coats with them.
Yes their reaction was going too far. Their sensibilities were offended. So what? Their assumption they can determine what other people, who are breaking no laws, may or may not do offends my sensibilities.
I'm not sure that I would be offended as such, if I saw them walking down my street but I fairly sure that if I had young children with me at the time. we would have hurried in the opposite direction !
The moral of this story is..Mankini: anytime, any place, anywhere - except Sparkbrook during Ramadan.
