the latest regarding my sinus problem. I had an x-ray last thursday, then saw a specialist this morning, he poked around both nostrils, then shoved a camera inside one of them, i think he called a scanner. He gave me a presription for drops, and i've to see another specialist this thursday.

Were last Thursdays X-Rays normal?

Is the specialist that you will see on Thursday an E.N.T surgeon?

sorry sqad for appearing so vague, but it appears that the spanish nhs isn't up to much. Accepted its partly my fault, i cant speak enough spanish to hold a conversation, this didnt help matters, even though my spanish girlfriend was there, she was baffled at the behaviour of the specialist. Both appointments were in the same hospital, x-ray was last thursday, ent appointment was this morning. they didnt have the xray results. I am hoping things will be more clear this thursday.

sorry for the delay. forgot the name of the drops, will get back to you later with the name, i remember it begins with r, but couldn't find it in google, they're not drops, but cream, oh the second name on the tube was vitamina
anyway had another x-ray in a very modern machine, lay on a bed, and was traversed into a revolving disc thing, this i assume took my x-ray. have another appointment in late jan.hopefully to discuss the results, if they dont lose the x-rays again!!

Piggy, if it's any help, OH had serious sinus problems a few years back and had surgery to unblock blockages and distortions in the little tubes exiting the sinuses. He has a steroid spray he can use now, but he's had no problems since. Not a nice intervention, but it jolly well worked.

piggy...thanks for the update...I have no idea what the cream might be.
The X-Ray was almost certainly am MRI scan which will give you some answers..........although, I cannot convince myself that they will be helpful answers ;-)

boxtops, thanx for that. My problem is the language barrier, plus my spanish g'friend isn't much help, oh yes she's more or less bi-lingual, but she has never had any dealings with the spanish nhs, she always goes private, so every time i have an appointment she's as baffled as me regarding what they're saying or asking.plus can someone explain how my digital x-rays got mislaid!!??
I like to know whats going but always feel in the dark!!

Can you get an interpreter, piggy? I know you would be able to if you were here in the UK and unable to understand the consultation.

boxy......in Spain, patients are NOT spoon fed as they are in the UK, one is expected to provide one's own interpreter.
However in the large teaching hospitals interpreters are provided ..........but not in 50 different Asian dialects.

I didn't know if interpretation was available at all, sqad! It's not always available here these days - it costs big money to contract, but family interpretation (as piggy realises) is not always the best option.
