Having witnessed the plight of some of these poor house owners etc, got me to wonder who long will it be before the EU and other overseas countries (who we have been so keen to helped out in the past), will now be pledging their money to the UK?

It seems that Gromit has the answer. We in South Wales thank our lucky stars for the EU, as it provided much needed money to regenerate communities devastated by the de-industrialization polices of the the 80s and 90's. Without this much-needed money, the urban decay would be much worse than it is today.
