Will the Beko freezer - model ZS430 work outside in the garage during winter.

I've managed to find the manual online but, alas, it makes no reference to 'ambient temperature' or 'operating conditions'. I therefore suggest asking Beko directly by emailing service@ beko. co. uk or by calling their Customer Helpline on 0870 774 1050.

I cannot think of any reason why any freezer would not work in any dry conditions anywhere. The higher the ambient temperature, the more it will need to work. Assuming the garage is not heated but the house is, then the freezer will work less hard in winter than it would in the house and actually therefore consume less electricity. I have had my freezers in a garage for at least three decades and I think it safe to say BEKO freezers are not fundamentally different from any other.
Most freezers are designed to work at no lower than 10°C. While some from other manufacturers may be OK, Beko say that all their freezers are built to operate in lower temperatures than others by using a different coolant. See 'Which' report on the subject...

Karl, some freezers say they need to be in the house, as it is too cold outside (say in a garage) for them to work properly.
The last freezer I bough was a Beko because it said it would work in a garage or other outside room.
The Which web site says:
In practice, lots of people keep freezers in their garages for years without experiencing any problems.
However, because most of these appliances aren’t designed to work properly in cold temperatures (see exception below), we can’t recommend putting them in unheated rooms.
If you do decide to keep your freezer in your garage, it’s worth bearing in mind that this might invalidate its warranty - so check the small print first.

In over 30 years of keeping freezers in a garage I have had two breakdowns, both in summertime, as luck would have it, one when I was away. The measured temperature has gone down to 0 degrees Celcius, but never below. Maybe now that I have heard that this practice is considered a problem my freezer will promptly fail :)
