We have received an email from them asking for advance information. Such as name, DOB, passport number, expiry date. Is this genuine or a scam. We are going to France next month.

Genuine - they are obliged to collect it now

If you don't fill in the forms in advance, you'll have to do it when you check-in - which "may cause you to be delayed"

Thanks sunny-dave, you can't be too careful. Never had this before and we go to France twice a year.
Make sure you are on the official Eurotunnel site when you enter the information - I expect there are some scam merchants setting up 'lookalikes'.
Didn't happen to us before, but given the new problems I would assume that it is genuine.
Don't click on any link. As Sunny says, go to the official website.

Oh has filled it in. He reckons a smmer wouldn't know booking reference number and both our names.
I just got a bit jittery.
