upgrade from win 98 to xp

dell inspiron 4000 running win 98.would like to upgrade to win xp.have discs.what would be the best way to go about this?not worried about saving files,loaded software etc. any help appreciated....

When i press the horn my stereo turns off then on again and other probs

I have just installed a new stereo in my 1990 fiesta and noticed that wen i press the horn, the stereo cuts out and resets itself then turns back on. Also my rear window wiper only works wen it wants...
