Can anyone tell me which is the correct grammar: 'she was sitting on the floor' or 'she was sat on the floor'? I have always thought the former, but in everything I read they seem to use the latter....

Getting wax off stone patio

I just recently knocked over a citronella candle on my new stone patio and have a huge wax mark on it! Ive tried Dawn soap and scrubbing and it hasn't budged. Anyone with ideas please help!!
