can any believer in religion please tell me why an almighty, omnipotent god needs people to do his bidding here on earth?
Had a conversation with a couple of JW door knockers a few days ago who were convinced that they were doing gods work, I asked them why he cant do his own work. if he wants me to know about the bible why cant he tell me himself? Its something that ive noticed with others....evangelical christians, mormons etc. Its the same with muslim fanatics who believe that commiting attrocities is doing gods work. If god's got a problem with infidels why cant he sort it himself?
I'd be genuinely interested to hear from anyone who believes that they are doing gods work and tell me why god cant do things for himself.

J.W's at your door will not discuss spiritual matters with those who CLAIM to be disfellowshipped...and WILL depart the scene with respect to the householder. We cannot know if a person is D/F or not. We must take their word for it.
So if you do not want to discuss the Bible, it is better to be honest and say so rather then lie about it.
The choice is yours.
And it will be respected.
Even to the extent you ask to be a " DO NOT CALL" where your address will be recorded and no further visits will happen...

My experiences with JWs calling at my address over the last 34 years have never been happy. I have tried everything, including being ultra polite but I have found your colleagues to be very unwilling to take no for an answer.
I have also tried being extremely rude by using a selection of frank, Anglo-Saxons phrases but these have not stopped further visits and pestering either.
I was told about the disfellowship approach a few years ago and I have found it to be highly effective, so I continue to recommend it to anyone who has had the misfortune to plagued by you and your colleagues. It is the only thing that has worked for me. Many people over the years have thanked me for the advice.
What I have never been able to understand is why you behave the way you do in the first place. Judging by the poor or non-existent response that you get when visiting my housing estate, it can hardly be worth it. I worked in sales and marketing for a few years and from my point of view you are a marketing disaster. Who else walks around housing estates in packs, carrying briefcases on a Saturday morning ? You always dress up far too much and are obviously not selling Sky packages, encyclopedias, or new energy suppliers. I wonder that you bother at all.
My worst experience was 20 years ago, when Boxing Day fell on a Saturday, and yet you still decided that it was a good day to call...quite amazing behaviour.

You should be cautious about just what it is your "common sense" tells you. The world you inhabit is a very strange place indeed, and nothing like it might appear to be, for example; if you were to extract all the actual solid matter from every human being on the planet it would all fit comfortably into a matchbox. - The actual constituents of the blood flowing through your veins once flowed through the veins of a dinosaur. - Some pretty smart people believe there could be a three dimensional universe just a millimetre away from you, but if that universe was measured in a fourth spatial dimension you would be completely unaware of it.
One mark of intelligence is the ability to live with as yet unanswered questions, of which there are many. To the simple-minded, everything is simple.

I don't think its the not-agreeing that is the problem Vulcan......JWs have talked such errant nonsense since the religion was invented in 1870, that they are now unable to separate fact from fiction !

mikey; I think I understand why you are unable to "make neither hide nor hair of my comments" on death, but what I don't understand is why of all things to pick on, you choose Jehovah's Witnesses for your attacks. Surely all you need do if they, or anyone unwanted comes to your door, is say "No thank you", and close it. Perhaps you think they are an easy target on here; do you think you are breaking a butterfly on the wheel?
I agree that God seems less than omnipotent , why can't he send down a few thunderbolts to smite the 'ungodly' or let loose a battalion of angels to do work?
I am reminded of the passage in 'Puckoon' by Spike Milligan where the local priest decided to wake up the congregation by calling down 'fire from heaven' during the sermon he raised his arms and said '' I call down Fire from Heaven'' nothing happened so he called again, still nothing, he called a third time and the plaintive voice of the verger floated down from the rafters '' Hang on a minute Father the cat's pissed on the matches''

Khandro...firstly I was responding to nailit's post...I repeat that he first brought up the subject of JWs, not me.
Secondly, as has been shown by others, as well as me on this thread, you post have made very little sense whatsoever, departing from English as we know it.

Khandro...it is easier to get rid of nits than it is to get rid of JWs. They are persistent in the extreme. I have no wish to be pestered by them on a Saturday morning and especially not on a Boxing Day, or Easter Saturday. They are as mad as a box of frogs and I want nothing whatsoever to do with them.
My method works and I commend it to anybody that feels the same as I do.
