can any believer in religion please tell me why an almighty, omnipotent god needs people to do his bidding here on earth?
Had a conversation with a couple of JW door knockers a few days ago who were convinced that they were doing gods work, I asked them why he cant do his own work. if he wants me to know about the bible why cant he tell me himself? Its something that ive noticed with others....evangelical christians, mormons etc. Its the same with muslim fanatics who believe that commiting attrocities is doing gods work. If god's got a problem with infidels why cant he sort it himself?
I'd be genuinely interested to hear from anyone who believes that they are doing gods work and tell me why god cant do things for himself.

Goodlife, what "does" make JWs go away? Please, tell me.
Death, just like the rest of us.
Thanks zac- although that seems a little extreme if they knock on my door:-)
Surely you'd be doing them a favour(?).
ratter; //No matter what you believe, we will all end the same DEAD AS A DOOR POST!//
You may write it in letters as large as you like, but you have no evidence, scientific or intellectual to substantiate this. In the 4.5 billion years since this planet was formed, nothing has left, and nothing has any independent concrete existence. Everything including you has been, and will continue to be, re-cycled. Everything that surrounds you, the chair you sit on, the computer you are using, was once something else, and I may add that includes your door post, which will either burn or rot one day and re-enter the continuing process, and that, is the sheer brilliance of life.

Yes, material is literally recycled- but humans /animals die. We do have intellectual and scientific proof for that. If part of your body ends up in a plant in 100 years, what difference does it make? You don't know about it, because you're dead- just as you don't remember before you were born.
Khandro: // It [the original post] is unanswerable, because it is really a fatuous non-question//

Yes it is, but not for the reason you think it is.
Goodlife...drivel.

Lest anyone need reminding, the topic under discussion is . . .
'Religion & Spirituality'
We don't need reminding mibn2cweus, but nailit did include JW's in his post.
And Jehovah's Witnesses are a sort of religion aren't they ? One of the dafter ones perhaps, but not as silly as scientology.
'mibn2cweus', yep, that's my name, don't wear it out . . . *sigh*

It could make a big difference to your mental and spiritual outlook now, but I won't hold my breath.
divebuddy; // My wife has got a coat that used to be a couple of Leopards.//
How do you both feel about that?
Divebuddy, no .... cold. Try again - no prizes though, except a pat on the back for simple logic. :o)

Khandro, I bet that avatar isn't conveying the same message to me that it conveys to you. ;o)

Ratter, have a pat on the back. :o)
Thank you Naomi ;-)
You're welcome - as always. :o)

Never, but never engage in conversation with JWs on your doorstep...a complete waste of time. What you need to do is this...tell them you have been "Disfellowshipped"//
I actually like talking to them, makes my mental health problems seem insignificant by comparison...
