My family are doing all our shopping. SIL did some on his way home from work. He went to Lidl. Amongst the shopping was a bottle of own brand gin.
I normally pay about £9.95, this one was £13.13. I was all set to phone Lidl and complain. Then I realised, he had shopped in Wales, they charge differently for alcohol. They had set a fixed price per unit.
He won't be getting my gin from there again.

Assuming that you mean this one

there should only be a penny difference in the price either side of the border!
Oh, hang on though, that's only a 50ml bottle. Their 'own brand' which they sell in full size (70cl) bottles is, indeed, a lot dearer in Wales:

Sorry, son in law!!
I went to Wales recently and bought some cider in tesco, £2.05 on the Saturday went back on the Monday and the same bottle was £5. Needless to say I didn't bother with it.
Is he still allowed to cross the border to do shopping?
