A doctors note on its own will get nothing, its only part of the process which normally includes an interview of at least 30 minutes.
Auntypoll, you don't need to prove you can't walk a certain distance - many people who get it can walk perfectly well but have other problems such as my associate with Thalidomide.
Blind people; people with at least 80% deafness and visual impairment; the severely mentally impaired or have severe behavioural problem all qualify provided they are at least 3 years of age and under 65 when you first claim.
Barry I have lost count how many of these interveiws I've attended with people through my voluntary work. I'm quite away of the points system and what taken into account in the assessment. My remark about the ability to walk was made directly in response to the comment that someone who was capable of paragliding would just need a doctors note to get the higher rate PIP mobility. You have to show you are in need of help to get around either becasue of physical or mental challenges you have.I presumed you would have to run quite fast, have no mental impairment and have both arms and legs to paraglide but I'm happy to be proved wrong 😄
