Do You Have A Favourite Type Of Bean?

Mine would be butter beans.  They have a slightly floury texture so maybe not to everyone's taste.

I'm sneaking in with my head covered - I don't like beans!  There I've said it.  I have finally discovered that if you slit the tops of Broad Beans and push out the middles, they are really rather nice - but such a faff to do. Otherwise French beans are edible.  I used to grow and eat string beans, but that was poverty induced and now neither of my kids will eat them!

I cannot bear and never eat any beans (apart from baked which doesn't count really) - butter, fava, white, french etc with my pinnacle of revoltingness belonging to the broad one. Heave at the thought.

Runner beans are definitely my favourite, then Broad beans ,dwarf green beans, butter beans, and black eyed beans.

I'll have to agree with DT. I'm not a fan of beans and have just about cut them out of my diet. But, I always loved flageolet beans when I could get them at sainsburys. They disappeared from the shelves before lockdown. I found them at Waitrose...yay! I'll have them as part of a salad dressed in olive oil and garlic with a squeeze of lemon.

fuul beans, i ate loads of them whilst holidaying in Egypt in ´91. Brought a bag of them to eat in the uk, werent the same!! just couldnt do anything with them. 

are chick peas regarded as beans? cuz i like them.

Ful Madammas - lovely for breakfast.  You sprinkle cumin, chilli, spring onion on them.  A staple in the middle east.

One of my favourite winter stew is Fabadas Asturianas. A spanish peasant stew containing a variety of beans,cabbage,chorizo,ham hock and Black Pudding. Fava beans or Butter beans are the primary beans in it.

I like all beans, backed green and yes love butter beans.

My beans (bit late this year) are just coming up.  Got Runners (long and short) FRench and broad in. 😀

Slugs had a go (why do they have to eat the centre bit and kill the plant?) but got rid of most of them with the new organic 'blue' pellets.
