Some have been having trouble with Gravatars updating recently.

I gave the techies a nudge, they looked into it and said it must be a problem at the Gravatar end.

As such there's little we can do to force gravatars to change.

We hope they'll fix the problem in a timely fashion.

Perhaps I do lack a sense of humour because I am not amused by the thought of random Avatars and was distressed when mine was, for a very short time, changed to a silhouette of some mysterious person.

Having mentioned a 'short time' I am surprised that the Ed has indicated that AB went for the short option of establishing Avatars; when it was technically possible to do so without being involved with Gravatar.

Surely we are all intelligent enough to realise that we can live to regret quickies.

Hi Ron,

When we receive your cheque to pay for the development time we'll be happy to crack on with it.
With regard to random avatars, having recently experienced the distressing impact of the disgusting image that I was recently landed with, I agree with Ron. I'm not amused by the proposal either. I'm astonished that after all this talk of Gravatar being at fault, it is suddenly announced that we will be given 'random' avatars - which must again beg the question of how that repellent image, which was neither on my Gravatar account nor on my profile, showed up next to all my posts a couple of days ago.

If you intend playing this game, may I respectfully request you leave me out in future.

Hi Naomi,

It was a joke - I was announcing this gravatar bug as a "feature". Clearly I missed the mark.

As I've said, it's an issue with Gravatar and we hope they fix it soon, but there is nothing we can do out end to speed this up.
well, I thought it was funny

I changed from my usual fishy shape to a G this morning. When I logged back in later all back to normal.
I'm pleased with my avatar and have no complaints thank Ed.
I thought it was funny.

I have no problem with changing my avatar, it was easier than I thought. Only thing is I will have to give myself a festive look, which means doing it again.
Not a problem, but my profile picture is as it should be, but the one on where I put answers has turned into a G.
I think we are taking it in turns to have the Gravatar logo as our avatar. Someone had it earlier tonight, I had it for an hour and now it's your turn. Maybe we should all have a guess as to who will get it at the 12.00 pm changeover

Your profile still shows the Santa stuck upside down in the chimney
I asked on an earlier why do we have to use Gravatar, it has never been that easy.
*thread* oooops sorry ! Still am happy with my aviator, but will need to change after Xmas.
Well I've turned into a ghost and obviously one of a former life when I must have been a man!!!

:o)
s'ok, I came back to life on the hour... :o)
factor30....The Avatar in your profile is really great and suitably festive with a Santa hat.

Can't understand why in the columns of AB it appears to be your previous Avatar which has been overprinted with the words .." What evil they do to my Avatar next".

It's no wonder woofgang asked the question:-

Ron.
... "What WILL they do to my avatar next?"
Should be back to normal at 3 pm I hope
^ That's not what shows on your profile factor.............
