of course it matters. One of my Best Answers actually got deleted. Imagine my shame. Suppose I'd rung up my mother to alert her to my Best Answer and she'd called back to ask if it was obscene or something.

Important to some, not to others maybe. Why is there an option to choose one then?

My best answer count went up over the last couple of days and I was interested to find out which answers they were. When I click best answers in my profile it only shows the first 10 without a page 2 choice?

I think if someone takes the time to respond to a post they should be rewarded
with a best answer according to the question poser. I always reward a best answer.

How to get a good "best answer" count by sqad.

1) Only answer questions on threads in which the OP gives best answer.
2) Make sure that you agree with the opinion of the OPer.
3) Try and make a humorous reply (doesn't matter if it is unrelated to the question.
4) Try and make a reply which bolsters the ego of the OPer.

They do not guarantee a best answer, but ignoring them with certainly exclude you from the best answer tally.
