Is it not possible to have 'Photography' as in important topic ?

Hi- it could come under the existing Hobbies and Interests section or Technology. I've not noticed a large number of questions on photography but maybe if a few appeared it may trigger more interest

I agree robin. I've often wanted to put/read things about photography, usually find it in technology section.

Now that we are in the age of digital photography, it appears that a lot more questions are arising on the subject. Accordingly, a dedicated section in AB could be appropriate.

most people just want to know what camera to buy, and ask it in the Technology section, which seems fair enough.

It they want to discuss Ansel Adams tonalities, then A&L should do the trick.

Come on jno...I feel sure that, if there were a section for photography, we would see a lot more questions raised on the subject.

Photography has progressed from Ansel Adams' black and white imagery.
What with cameras galore and mobile phones with inbuilt facilities to take photographs. Computer enhanced images, colour control, multi focus lenses etc etc.

I have been an amateur photographer for more than 60yrs and am still learning from others who are up-to-date on modern equipment and technicalities of usage.

Why not email The Ed through the contact us at the bottom of the page. Ask him to do a poll which should show how much interest there is.

I think it could be worth having as a subsection. After you posted this thread I noticed we do get quite a few photography posts and they are spread among several sections including hobbies and technology

to be honest i think it could be it's own topic with a couple of sub-sections, like, tiny-pic queries and using photoshop or posting pics on other sites etc. i would subscribe to that. you got my vote robin!
