Am I the only person who is totally disinterested with Facebook & Twitter? I have no intention of signing up with either or posting my private business for all to read.
How about having a poll? For Facebook/Twitter or against Facebook/Twitter.

I can also see what they've been doing and look at the photos they post without ever getting in touch with them. In fact, since I joined Facebook I never contact any friends any more and have become a recluse!! Thank goodness I have never got into Twatter.
I use Twitter to follow local news, the council, local police, national news - that way I keep up with road closures, diversions and things pertinent to me.
I also follow Jeremy Vine because it is interesting/amusing to read opinions of his show whilst it is on air.
I follow a computer magazine - they are very helpful and the quizzes are good.

I have used Facebook for years, and love it. Its a great way to keep in touch with far flung (and those close by) friends and relatives. I'm a recent convert to Twitter, but love that too. I've had several of my tweets read out on the radio! If you dont like either,as far as I am aware, there is no law saying that you have to use them!
