..... in the title boxes please? It's not good that we can't do a number of capitals - look at this one, it's just not right! http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Sport/Question1214836.html

Not really, sorry!

Awwww...... :-(
Thanks boxy!

I may incur the wrath of Ed but it does seem silly that we can't type consecutive capitals but have to endure the Related Threads issue which literally nobody wants and is at best simply mind-boggling!

I mean, do these look right?

Bbc
Rospa
Rspca
Itv
Rbs
Hsbc
Rspb

I could go on.....
Well could we at least have some rationale behind the decision please Ed?
WOULD THIS BE AN ACCEPTABLE TITLE?

:)

HoW ABout THIS?

No. It's not perfect I'll grant, but it's better than the alternative.

More importantly, we've been through this before - and the answer was "no" then as well!

I'd rather not have imposed capitals at all, TBH - not every word needs a capital in a title....
How odd. No related threads at the bottom of this one......yet!

Can't see the reasoning there Ed to be honest.

Ho-hum.
WOULD THIS BE AN ACCEPTABLE TITLE?

:)

HoW ABout THIS?
----------------------------------
But isn't that the sort of thing for a Mod to sort out?
They're pretty swift where other matters are concerned! LOL
Whilst I can see the problem with the ciurrent system I can also see the other side.
ChillDoubt- are you suggesting mods should remove a question where someone types a title that looks like this HoW ABout THIS
No factor, I'm suggesting that when on duty a Mod can re-type the question so that it's not a jumbled up mess as in the Ed's example, not delete them.

That would be a bit too draconian!
Mods cannot edit posts.
Mods cannot edit posts.
-------------------
I know. I just reasoned that they may be given power to alter a thread/OP title, as they have the power to pull a thread.
An alternative? I wouldn't mind if the titles were all in capitals, although it would work better if the title box were limited to say 30 characters.Would it look silly if we typed R B S or R.B.S ?

I am not sure why we leave posters to decide on the capitalisation of the body of a post but not on the title, but Ed has clearly considered this in detail before and it will be left as it is.

The convention used at present doesn't reflect the convention that is taught (e.g. words like 'of' should start with lower case), but I can see it would be difficult to programme that).
It's logical what you are suggesting, CD......
I wouldn't want mods to have the ability to alter any part of a post.

Factor's idea of typing headings in capitals cures the problem. Sorted.
I wouldn't want to be able to edit posts............the temptation would be too great.
"I wouldn't want to be able to edit posts............"

I do, gimme!
Just to re-iterate, as I said I'm not asking for Mods to be given the power to edit a POST (sorry for shouting, don't know how to do the italics!), just an OP if it were typed in a way that the Ed gave an example of in an earlier post i.e. a mixture of upper and lower case at random.

Can't we go with factor's suggestion? May as well have it all in upper case.
I know it's pedantic but I'm fed up of seeing the like of RBS etc in an OP as Rbs, same with Uk, Gb, Us/Usa.
Or should we just type them in full and make larger OP title headings?

Or, as I suspect is the Ed still miffed at me from when I suggested some people have the choice to download a certain piece of software that would...er...how shall I put it....ensure the removal of certain aspects that change how some of the functions on the site are viewed?

(Just joking Ed, I'll get me coat......)LOL

A post's just gone up about Richard Iii - rather than Richard 3rd-in-Roman-numerals. This is silly.
Strange that . . there is a post here showing Richard III
