This reminds me of a time about 8 years ago when I was trying to recall a series I saw many years previously. Hoped to be able to get to see some episodes or whatever. Took me ages to find out it was "Out Of The Unknown" and the BBC had destroyed the series. Just a few episodes have been found since :-(

They also made a fine adaptation of Sartre's Roads to Freedom trilogy. I don't know if it was scraped too but its never been released on tape or DVD.
