would people necessarily tell you, though, or put down anything if they don't want to reveal they follow a certain faith, or don't, or claim to follow it but don't actually practice? What would we do with that information when we've got it?

As the link shows, the question suggested was:

1. Religious
2. Agnostic
3. Atheist //

... so aimed only at ascertaining general numbers of believers, non-believers, and don't knows. Nothing personal and, of course, anonymous.

As for what are we going to do with the information - nothing. It's just general interest, as are all the other polls we have here.

You can see yourself as spiritual and yet not religious. Not sure one would want such a coarse set of pigeonholes ?
