They may have asked for it to be deleted but it's a news story. A thread about a deleted thread, which was also deleted, was warranted imo.

I can only presume that if the OP makes a good enough case of asking for removal, that is honoured.
I am sure if someone reposted it in News it would stay.

Well, you have your answer: it was asked to be removed by the person posting it. It's not censorship, just doing someone a favour.

Post it again if you have something interesting to add? We'd only remove that if it did break a rule.

I removed the thread talking about it's removal as, well, you know our stance on threads like that.
