Fairly often once a thread is almost over, a new message appears stating 1 min ago. Go to look at it and there is nothing at all.

If there is no activity on the site for a short while the top question reverts to 0 min ago and all the subsequent questions have their timing adjusted downwards by a similar amount.
If q1 was 3 min ago and q2 5 min ago, q1 becomes 0 min ago and q2 becomes 2 min ago.....
Why - I know not.
