Time To Scrap "related Questions ?

A good area of my screen is taken up with so called "Related questions"

this is an irrelevant waste of my screen space...

Once in a blue moon I find 'related questions' useful as it saves me having to search through loads of stuff when I want to direct a questioner to a previous thread.

However I cant actually oppose your suggestion as it appears to echo one of my own here:

Agreed. Complete waste of space. Don't expect it to be removed any time soon, though...

It can be very useful in Crosswords and Q&P as it does throw up the previous times the question was asked, but outside these sections I think it's rarely of any use

if I'm not filling my crossword puzzle in, I use ABmobile where you don't have related questions nor many adverts.

I don't have related questions displayed, nor do I have the best answers shown, and do it in Firefox using the Customize Your Web add-on http://customize-your-web.de/wordpress/?page_id=9 - so that's one way to make the display look the way you want it to be.

The Best Answer display is just a pain when it comes to getting to the replies which is why I'm quite happy to be rid of it.

That's a much better layout, bibblebub.
I don't understand why the best answer box and associated advert are where they are as they mean that when I click on a post in Latest Posts I have to remember to tab down to see the answers.

Are you thinking more space for adverts or is the advert going too?

The best answer could be a clickable icon within the question itself ( like the entries for 'subscribe' & 'report' )

We usually find that this "hides" the information Quoi, and that it doesn't get used as much. It's why the tabs aren't great on AB (in my opinion).

And yes, we'd still want a space for the square advert, it's key to us keeping the lights on, amongst everything else!

yes, I think the related questions do the job about half the time; I wouldn't want to lose the lot just to save space. Perhaps in Q&P they could be restricted to only the last month or so, but for all I know they already are.
